      LE SOLEIL,

      Quand il explose en haut de la montagne,
      Tout son éclat pétille dans les cieux
      Et se répand sur la verte campagne,
      En flammes d’or pareil Ă  de grands feux.

      Presque aussitĂŽt des rayons merveilleux,
      Teintent le noir du rouge qu’accompagne
      L’aube levant des matins radieux,
      Quand il explose en haut de la montagne.

      Et doucement la puissance le gagne,
      Il grimpe encor plus vif, plus chaleureux !
      Tel le flambeau sur un mĂąt de cocagne,
      Tout son éclat pétille dans les cieux.

      L’aurore infiltre un marais nuageux,
      Faisant monter la brume de la fagne,
      Puis la transforme en brouillard vaporeux,
      Et se répand sur la verte campagne.

      Le jour survient, comme Ă©chappĂ© d’un bagne,
      Se libérant des barreaux lumineux ;
      L’astre sourit cachĂ© derriĂšre un pagne
      En flammes d’or pareil Ă  de grands feux.

      Arrive enfin le moment doucereux
      OĂč le zĂ©nith choisira pour compagne,*
      Sur l’horizon d’un soleil fabuleux,
      L’Ambre dorĂ© des bulles de champagne
      Quand il explose…
