          Le vent ne chante plus dans les branches du frĂȘne.
          Le jour se lĂšve tard, le soir se couche tĂŽt,
          Et la nuit s’Ă©paissit, pesant comme un manteau
          Sur la terre oĂč s’endort la nature sereine.

          L’oiseau ne chante plus sur la branche du chĂȘne.
          Au fond de la forĂȘt puis au flanc du coteau,
          On entend résonner, comme un immense écho,
          Les brames que le cerf furieusement Ă©grĂšne…

          Les bogues sont tombées sur le bancel mouillé,
          La chĂątaigne s’enfouit dans un humus rouillĂ©
          BientĂŽt les champignons bossĂšleront la mousse.

          Et tandis que le ciel dans le brun et le roux
          Repeint l’automne d’or de sa palette douce,
          Le ruisseau dessĂ©chĂ© se souvient du mois d’AoĂ»t.
